Hi Everyone!
Upon Diana's recommendation, I saw The Girl with
the Dragon Tattoo film this week.
It was very intense but absolutely spellbinding.
I'm not usually one for a 2 and a half hour film but
it really flew.
I just had to close my eyes through some yucky bits.
I can't wait for SATC 2.
It looks so ridiculous and fabulous and the same time.
If you haven't seen the trailer already...
Restaurant on the moment, Ortiga is apparently
booked out for about 3 weeks ahead!
It goes to show there are a lot of people here
with good taste :)
The Troubadour has a few exciting shows coming up.
On Saturday April 24th, New Zealand indie favourites
The Bats will be playing their first Brisbane show
in 7 years.
We will definitely be there, as Matt's brother Greg
will be supporting with his band
Also at The Troubadour, Brisbane music legends
and founders of The Saints, Chris Bailey and
Ed Keupper are joining together (which is surprising
for a start) for three Thursday night shows in May.
They will be performing collaborative works as well
as their solo projects, so expect some Laughing Clowns too.
I was wondering which one might play Know Your Product?
If you are feeling very nostalgic, Mark Seymour from
Hunters and Collectors will be doing a solo show
there also on June 4th.

You may have noticed the recent knitwear revival.
Lover introduced some chunky knit dresses, cowl
neck sweaters and scarves.
Karen Walker, often fond of a hand knit has also included
a nice knobbly sweater in her collection.
They are all feeling very 1970's and make me think of
one of my girl crushes, Ali MacGraw.
In the 1960's, Ali worked as a photographer's assistant
at Harper's Bazaar (U.S.) before assisting legendary
fashion editor Diana Vreeland for 6 years.
She also modelled extensively for U.S. Vogue before
moving into film.
She is best known for her role in the 1970 film Love Story,
starring opposite Ryan O'Neil (in his better days).
I can not watch this film without sobbing incessantly.
Ali's look of the time captures the 1970's perfectly.
I'm ready for my, chunky knit, maxi skirt and clogs ;)

exhibition.
This event takes a casual and fun approach to the
use of film photography where open contributions
of photos have been accepted to exhibit in the
gallery, anonymously.
The photographs are available for sale at $10
and it is only upon buying a snap that the
photographer's name will be revealed.
