Never Let Me Go is now showing at Dendy Portside and Palace Cinemas.

It is such a moving film with wonderful acting, particularly from Carey Mulligan

and Andrew Garfield.

A new exhibition opened at Nine Lives last night to a huge, enthusiastic crowd.

American artists Alex Kopps and Alex Knost have presented a collection of work that

focuses on "in between moments and accidents".

Alex Kopps work is abstract analog video art made primarily from reflections, optical tricks

and glitches found in consumer digital cameras.

Alex Knost's work is large optical prints of 35mm snap shop photography.

Hi Everyone!


You must think I say this all the time but it's been another crazy week.



I went to Sydney at the beginning of the week to see (touch, feel) the latest

collections from BV favourites Karen Walker and Antipodium.

Amazing. I want everything.



I caught up with Lauren for dinner at Don Don after her first week at Lover.

She is exhausted but loving it - naturally.



I also spent a day at QUT yesterday for the first presentations from the third

year students.

We're off on another magical mystery tour.

It's great to see some fabulous colour!

This is the first delivery for the season with another one arriving very soon.



Richard is continuing his successful collaboration with UK artist Linder Sterling.

Linder established herself as an artist in Manchester in the late 1970's with her pop art

collages, often using semi erotic themes.



She became well know for designing the cover for The Buzzcocks Orgasm Addict

7" in 1977 and has retained a close relationship with contemporary music and fashion

which is reflected in her work.



I am obsessed with her prints and have picked up one her prints from Richards' collection 

each season.



We also have the Lipstick City print on Richard's classic Stella dress shape $649) which is gracing

our front window at the moment.

The film stars Brisbane born Amber Scott who has been dancing with

the Australian Ballet since she was 11.

Illesteva launched their new Spring/Summer 11 collection last month at New York Fashion Week

by getting the NYU Orchestra play at a presentation wearing their sunglasses!

The show represented the idea of classical mixed with contemporary, which is exactly

what their eyewear collection is all about.



These great new styles are again all hand made in Italy and come with a hard case.

You Am I are playing at the Runaway Bay Tavern and it's only $24. Anyone want to drive?



On Saturday:

Visual Artist Sarah Byrne is releasing her latest work of experimental film  at Boxcopy, 129 Margaret Street

Rics are holding their Big Back Yard Festival with You Am I, Pangaea, Die, Die, Die, Six Ft. Hick & more

the Belligerents are doing their EP launch at Woodland with Young Men Dead and Millions supporting



On Sunday:

Joel Stern is hosting #17 in the Disembraining Machine series of new and experimental music presentations.

This night will feature Meat Thump, Rites Wild, Kris Keogh, The Soul Retrievers and it's at it's usual home -

Tidy @ Alchemy, 29 Logan Road, Woolloongabba.

Maybe grab a bite to eat at The Crosstown.
