The Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF)
starts next week on Thursday the 3rd and runs until
November the 13th with screenings at Palace Centro,
Palace Barracks, The Tribal Theatre and a special
Drive-In located at Northshore Hamilton.
Anyone got an Escort bubble window panel van?!
The festival is in it's 20th year now and I'm sure many of
you will now reminisce over good times had at the old
Hoyts Regent with coffee, cigarettes and lengthy film
discussions at Aromas...
I am looking forward to MANY films, naturally.
I'm not going to mention them as I haven't bought
my tickets yet and I don't want them to sell out!
If you are a BIFF member, you can save $$$ not only now,
but all the way through the year on seeing films the way they
should be seen - at the cinema.
If you're like me and you like to tick, circle or asterisk, we have
paper programmes in-store now.
Otherwise, you can download the BIFF app to your iphone!

This is such a fun collection full of colour and life.
We see the return of the popular Derek Henderson Hydrangea
print in some new styles and Karen is also continuing her pyjama
style Boat Pants in these amazing new prints and colours.
These shots feel a little Kawaii, but most pieces can be toned
down if this isn't your thing with some summer sandals, a basic tee/tank
or your favourite jeans.
I'm not one to hold back and these colours are looking great with my

I mentioned having a brief catch up last week, with Antipodium designer Geoffrey J. Finch
but I forgot to mention that he was actually racing back to London to visit the Queen.
Yes indeedy, GJF was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen at a reception
pre-empting her Australian visit.
Geoffrey shared a cab with another invitee, supermodel Andrej Pejic.
I am often lamenting the lack of washable cotton items available considering
our tropical climate.
These lightweight pieces are perfect for these warm days.

Laura Brown is an emerging artist, creating intensely intricate
works that command attention in a refreshing and unexpected way.
Disregarding customary postmodern shock tactics, her work draws the
viewer in by it's sheer intricacy requiring a step closer,
to almost breath the works in, to truly experience them.
Join us for drinks and a special performance by Secret Birds
from 6:30pm on Thursday 27th October at Blonde Venus.
The show will hang until 27th of November.
