New Season! KINOAK! House of Cards & More Interesting News!

Hi Everyone!

There has been a little too much fur for me on the Runways this week, but the
message is clear.
Cover it up Ladies!

Exquisitely tailored grey wool ensembles backstage at Prada, photographed by Sonny Vandevelde.

Rochas' collection by Marco Zanini explored exaggerated volume based on classic 40's and 50's shapes.
Marco was on a similar train of thought as Marc Jacobs with more glamorous pyjama dressing.

Untitled by Lucy Griggs

About 13 years ago, we were lucky enough to have a window
installation at Blonde Venus with works by Lucy Griggs for two consecutive years as part of
a local initiative, to get art out in to public spaces, namely boutique windows.
It's wonderful how having a special piece hanging in your space can make you feel
so good.

Lucy's works often appear sweet in presentation but can be interpreting a more
sombre moment.
Her recent works have been inspired by her time living in Kazakhstan and further travels
throughout Turkey and Greece.

Lucy Griggs' new show called The Nature of Things  opened last night
at Milani Gallery and is on until March 28th.

If you're in Sydney...

Gemma Smith is back in Australia at the moment to show
her latest collection of delicious, vibrant tangled paintings
at Sarah Cottier's new gallery space in Sydney.
Can somebody PLEASE buy me The Big O.
It is stunning!

Gemma Smith created the beautiful ceiling in the new Brisbane Magistrates Court building.
I took this snap last year and it became the cover photo on our Facebook page.
I'm a big fan!
Gemma's show opens today and runs until March 28th.

When designer Ashiya Omudsen called this a winter collection,
she was of course referring to our wonderous tropical winters
which are dominated by fresh days of clear blue skies and sunshine.
I love the yellow crop top, I love the fresh mint but I SUPER LOVE
the killer, deep pointed collars.
Extraordinary!
