I missed Anna Karenina at the Brisbane International Film Festival
and I have heard that the costumes are beautiful and that it is
visually spectacular.
I could handle that!
I'm going to see it tonight.

This weekend, thanks to All Tomorrows Parties there are some great shows in Brisbane.
On Saturday night the legendary German industrial rockers Einstuerzende Neubautten
complete with double legendary Blixa Bargeld are playing at The Tivoli.
Apparently they were phenomenal in Melbourne and I'm not going to miss this one!
Can you believer that also on Saturday, super WOW Chicks on Speed
are performing at The Powerhouse.
Exploding out of Germany in the 90's, Chicks on Speed ignited a world wide movement
of DIY music, art and fashion and particularly inspired creative empowerment in women
for our generation as artists working across this spectrum.
Starting at 3:30 in the afternoon, the COS founding members Melissa Logan and
Alex Murray will be giving a performance lecture in the Turbine Studio.
Then at 10pm they will be doing a 90 minute DJ set on the Turbine Platform.
You can buy a ticket for both events for $60!
Expect extreme dressing and more extreme dancing!
Crime and the City Solution are an Australian post-punk band that formed in the late
1970's and have had a resurgence in modern circles recently due to their former members
Roland S Howard and Mick Harvey.
They were part of the creative band movement that brewed in London and bubbled
in Berlin in the 1980's with bands including The Birthday Party, Einstuerzende Neubautten
are are featured in the 1987 Wim Wenders film Wings of Desire.
Crime and the City Solution are playing at The Hi-Fi On Sunday night
supported by Sleepy Sun.
Thanks to Lila Boheme my long locks are a light silver rinse this week,
inspired by Kristen McMenamy.
