New Season Man Love! Edwin, Passport, Dr Denim, UNDFTD, Flying Coffin, Odd Future + Win Tickets to DELICACY

Hi Everyone!

I had my big "Fashion Week Before Fashion Week" last week

and as you can expect I pushed myself to the limits to take in

as much as possible.

I will give a little preview of our Summer 2012/13 Collections very soon and of course

we have some Australian Exclusives for you!

The MCA, Sydney

That's me with the turquoise tips courtesy of Lila Boheme.

I always recommend a visit to Sydney's MCA but the building

has just been revamped so it's a whole new and wonderful experience.

Give yourself quite a few hours as there is so much to absorb in their current collection

plus you will need extra time to sit and watch the continuous 24 hour film by Christian Marclay

called The Clock.

I watched about 45 minutes and could have stayed there all afternoon :)

Christian was awarded the Golden Lion for Best Artist at last years Venice Biennale

for his film.

He has gathered and edited thousands of pieces of film that reference time and each moment

is synchronized with real time as you are watching it.

You can even sleep over on Thursdays so that you attempt to watch the whole film.

The Story of Mary MacLane by Herself

I tried to get to the play called The Story of Mary MacLane by Herself

which stars wonderful Australian actress Bojana Novakovic and live music

by Australian rock icon Tim Rogers but it was sold out on the night.

If you're in Sydney, try to get along and tell me all about it.

I've heard that it's wonderful!

The play runs until May the 12th.

Dig It Up!

So the Hoodoo Gurus decided to invite a whole stack of bands

that they had played with over the years plus some young ones and do two big festival

days first in Sydney and then in Melbourne called Dig It Up.

The Sydney show was based at the Enmore Theatre and Melbourne

was based at the Palace Theatre and both cities had extra stages

at 3 other nearby venues.

The calibre of music was amazing with Australian legends Died Pretty,

Rob Younger & Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman), Spencer P Jones,

The Fleshtones, The Lovetones.

They were joined by those crazy ladies from Japan The 5,6,7,8's,

American 90's heart throbs Redd Kross and even 1960's legends

The Sonics.

Some of my favourite current Australian bands played Royal Headache,

Straight Arrows, Beaches and The Frowning Clouds.

It was all so wonderful and memorable but the absolute highlight

was the reformation of much loved Australian band The Sunnyboys

who hadn't played since 1984.

They played one show in Sydney and who knows if this will ever happen again!

The Hoodoo Gurus at The Palace  in Melbourne

They played their first (and best) album in it's entirety Stoneage Romeos complete with a giant blowup dinosaur on stage.

Brad Shepherd did windmills, star jumps and bunny-hopped. He was amazing.

The 5,6,7,8's  at The Palace in Melbourne.

The Lovetones played in The Attic at The Palace in Melbourne.

Redd Kross at the Palace in Melbourne - still had the hair!

The Sunnyboys at The Enmore Theatre in Sydney.

Spencer P Jones at The Pony in Melbourne

Royal Headache at Notes in Sydney.

These guys are my current favourite Australian band.

The Sonics at The Palace in Melbourne.

What amazing voices these guys still have.

I danced non-stop and they played my favourite song Psycho!

If you can't remember it, watch the film clip -

Stylebubble

This shot is of Susie Lau from Stylebubble giving her talk at The Edge, at the State Library

last Friday for Portable.

The event sold out and it was a great opportunity for local fashion lovers to meet the young

personable woman with so much knowledge of fashion today.

Susie dropped in to Blonde Venus and The Outpost for a visit and we really appreciate

her taking the time to do so when she was only here for the day.

Susie will be checking out some Australian labels while she is in the country so it

will be interesting to hear her thoughts.

Have you been to the new exhibition at GoMA and QAG yet?

You may have to make it two visits as there is SO much to take in and enjoy.

The installations in the GoMA entrance by Hiromi Tango will draw you in

straight away. They are so enchanting.

It's hard to capture the magic of this in a photo but I likened it

to a version of Enid Blyton's Faraway Tree.

You can actually stand under/inside it, like a secret place

where dreams might come true.

Win A Double Pass to see Delicacy!

When will be tire of French romantic comedies starring Audrey Tautou?

I say never!

This is the story of Natalie (Tautou) adjusting to life after the sudden,

tragic death of her husband.

Once happy in life and love, she struggles to adjust to her new

situation through work and friends and at the possibility

of finding romance again.

This quote has me so intrigued.

It's so romantic.

I can't wait to see it!

"I love your hair. I could go on a holiday in your hair."

We have 10 double passes to give away to a special preview, courtesy of Palace Cinemas

and Think Tank Communications!

When: Wednesday 2nd May 6:30pm

Where: Palace Barracks

How: Firstly make sure that you can attend - this screening is for tomorrow night.

Email me back with Delicacy in the subject and answer this question -
