Hi Everyone!
This one is ALL for the LADIES.
We have had more spectacular arrivals and the stores
are looking amazing.
They are like treasure troves filled with so many inspiring treats.
Maybe I am also feeling excited in anticipation of the new
exhibition that is opening at GoMA tonight.
It is also ALL ABOUT THE LADIES and is entitled Contemporary Australia: Women.
Deborah Kelly
The collection features more than 70 new and recent works including painting,
sculpture, photography, installation, textiles, video and performance by 33 artists
and collectives, a total of 56 visual artists.
There is a full programme of events happening this weekend for the exhibition opening.
I can't wait to get over there and see what wonderful concepts the ladies have waiting for us.
It's such a fabulous gallery. I get excited just walking through the front doors!
This is a free exhibition and runs until July 22nd.

Designed and made in New York, No. 6 is the creation of stylist Karin Berenson
and vintage collector Morgan Yakus.
I love that their pieces feel soft, vintage and romantic but are also very much
a today girl, striding the streets of New York or Brisbane as the case may be.
Like all clothes today, you can't help but feel the references from the past.
This feel echoes one of my favourite periods, the 1970's which of course also references
from the 1930's and 1940's.
So now I'm dreaming about skipping around in Ossie Clarke and Celia Birtwell,
Bill Gibb and of course you can't reminisce this era without thinking of the incredible Biba...
Our static in-store ladies Honey Ryder and Modesty Blaise are currently
resplendent in No. 6 complete with oversized Afros.
They are possibly channeling the musical Hair - another movie which I absolutely
love and I will never forget the emotion from seeing it the first time.
Or it could be Goldie Hawn in the 1972 film Butterflies Are Free which is also unforgettable...

So here are the final pieces to arrive from Felicity Ellison's incredibly modern
winter collection and I'm sure now that you have seen all of them you will have
totally fallen in love with her!
The Lila shapes walk so beautifully with their flowing back pleats.
We teamed up with luxury accessory store Jean Brown yesterday, for a styling
session with super stylist Kimberly Gardner.
The Ellison pieces looked amazing and Jean Brown have some stunning
bags (Proenza Schouller) heels (Louboutin) and hats (Felicity Boevink)
of the Neon variety.
It just makes you feel so happy :)

But oh those corduroy culottes!
They are stunning and ready for striding.
I'm thinking Ali McGraw in Love Story?

Susie Lau from Style Bubble is coming to Brisbane!
Well this IS exciting news.
Style Bubble is actually the only fashion blog that I read.
I have not seen any other blogs that have won the respect
that I have for Susie and to put it simply, she has a natural talent for it.
Like myself, she has a passion for the new and inspired and she is such a
hard worker - she writes everyday and passionately too.
I have had the pleasure of spending time with Susie at fashion week and
can say that she is a super lovely, charming girl who approaches
her work with honesty and with no pretension.
I was so thrilled to hear that she is also coming to Brisbane for this series.
Can this year possibly get any busier?!
Here's the link to Portable which will give you all the information plus how to get tickets.
I'll see you there!
I'm off to Sydney and Melbourne again next week to see the last of the "Cool School" Australian collections
that I'll be ordering for next summer.
SO EXCITED!
I have seen some sneaky pics but it's never the same
as seeing and playing with them in real life.
I'm also heading to this extraordinary music festival called Dig It Up with bands like
The Sonics, Redd Kross, The 5, 6 7 8's, The Hoodoo Gurus, Died Pretty, Tek & Younger (Radio Birdman),
Royal Headache, Beaches, Frowning Clouds, Straight Arrows, Kim Salmon, Spencer P Jones, The Fleshtones
and it's heavily rumoured that The Sunnyboys will be also playing!
We have had loads of new Mens Wear deliveries at The Outpost too so I'll get
back to you asap with an update on those.
If you can't wait, just drop in and say hello.
See you soon,
Thea X
