Hi Everyone!
I saw two wonderful films this week.
I thought I'd better get ahead before BIFF started.
Autoluminescent is a documentary on the musician
Roland S Howard who sadly passed away in December 2009.
This film was already in the works when Roland died so luckily
there are recent interviews with him as well as my husbands Nick Cave and
Bobby Gillespie.
It follows his career, relationships and life from The Young Charlatans, The Boys Next Door,
The Birthday Party and These Immortal Souls through to his final solo work.
I got to see him play one last time at All Tomorrow's Parties where he performed
on top of the hill on Kangaroo Island in January 2009.
He was magical.
Autoluminescent is screening now at Palace Barracks

I also saw Woody Allen's latest Midnight in Paris which was
a very enjoyable romantic escape.
It had the Allen nuances but in a very subtle and easily digestible form,
almost to the point of mainstream, but I loved it anyway.
Owen Wilson is kind of adorable and it was fun to see places in Paris
that I have visited and loved like the Musee de L'Orangerie...
Midnight in Paris is currently showing at both Palace Cinemas as
well as Dendy Portside and here's the trailer:

For Richard, this collection was all about freedom and movement and he
took his inspiration from the moth, both in it's cocoon and on the wing.
His beautiful wool cashmere coats and tapered elasticised tops
represented the cocoon concept and these gorgeous free flowing silk
dress shapes were inspired by the wings.
Richard has continued collaborating with his close friend, English artist
Linder Sterling who has developed these sensual collage prints
on his classic shapes - obviously with freedom on her mind - hello Ladies!
