It is such a beautiful time of year.
I had two full days of assessment with the Fashion students
at QUT this week and things are looking good.
If you haven't been already, the Black Bear Lodge
has officially opened (in the old Troubadour space)
and is your perfect loungeroom away from home.
Even better because you don't have to turn over the
records on the record player or pick up the empty glasses
that you're friends have left lying around the room.
It's a very comfortable hangout.
If you have been thinking about going to the Mercedes Brisbane
Fashion Festival and haven't bought tickets yet, you better jump
on-line as some shows have sold out already!

This was the closing film at the Sydney Film Festival recently which
was the films Australian debut.
We didn't have to wait too long at all!
Directed by the charming filmmaker and graphic artist Mike Mills, the story
is based on Mills' personal experience of his father who, after the death of
his wife of 45 years, came out of the closet to live a wonderfully gay life.
The story is a journey of love, romance, loss and life and stars
Ewan McGregor, Melanie Laurent and the incredible
Christopher Plummer as his father.
Mike Mills is on my "people that I'd like to have over for dinner" list.
You may recognize him as one of the artists involved in Beautiful Losers.
Married to Miranda July, Mike's first feature film was Thumbsucker
in 2005 and his many varied and cool accomplishments include designing
CD covers for bands such as Sonic Youth, The Beastie Boys, Boss Hog and
Buffalo Daughters.
He has designed scarves and fabric for Marc Jacobs, skateboards for Subliminal
and Supreme and directed film clips for bands such as Air, Pulp, Everything But The Girl,
Les Rythem Digitales, Moby, Yoko Ono and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
His commercial work includes campaigns for Levis, Gap, Volkswagen, Adidas and Nike,
in fact, too many accomplishments to list here, so take a look at his blog -
