New! Dion Lee Spring/Summer! 15-10-2010

Hi Everyone!

I just arrived back from Sydney so this will be a quick note.
It was great to catch up with everyone and hang at our favourite
Surry Hills spots like Kawa, Don Don and of course a couple of not-so-quiet-ones
at The Shady Pines Saloon.

Lauren and I saw LOTS of great things for next season in the
Australian collections.
So coupled with my backlog of Northern Hemisphere order sheets,
it's going to be a heavy duty weekend ploughing through the photos
and finishing orders that are supposed to be in by....oops...today!

I just had to let you know about these new Dion Lee arrivals...

Dion Lee, Sydney
Spring Summer 10/11

Rorschach Print Tank Top $460
available in Pastel Print (pictured) and  Black & White Print and also Contrast Print

Rorschach Print Tank Dress available in Pastel Print (pictured) $700

Magyar Jacket with Arm Vents, available in LIght Grey Silk $880

Rorschach Print Short Sleeved T Dress available in Black & White Print (pictured)  $700

You have probably seen the Runway images of these in EVERY magazine
since Australian Fashion week in early May and now they are finally here!

The Tank and Tee Dress Shapes are simple but the prints and colours
are extraordinary and so easy to wear for our Summer.

Dion shows off his pattern making skills in the Magyar Sleeve Jacket
which is actually extremely light weight so again great for our climate
but also perfect for travel.
You can wear it like a cape, as pictured or also as a regular jacket with
the cutout as a highlight.

Dion Lee is available exclusively in Queensland at Blonde Venus!

Gone are the days when we while away our Friday nights at JoJo's
eating chips with mushroom sauce - thankfully.
Now, generally our list of hot social options is just a little too long.
Tonight (Friday the 15th) there are a ridiculous number of social events to explore.

At 6pm, you can see another fashion documentary at GoMA with
Dressed Up For Summer as celebrity French TV personality Agnes Boulard
tackles the Fashion Week circuit in Paris and searches for "the next big thing".

Local film makers collective Third Horror debut their latest work called
The Joy of Sex in King George Square from 8pm as part of the BARI Festival.

Brisbane bands Feathers and Slug Guts  support American indie/psychadellic/shoegaze
outfit Dead Meadow at The Globe tonight.
Doors open at 9pm and tickets are $35.

The Clubhouse host local bands Chinese Burns and Running Guns, supporting
fantastic Sydney band The  Straight Arrows with doors opening at 8pm.

Another popular Brisbane band Extrafoxx launch their album tonight at
The Step Inn Front Bar supported by more local favourites Knee Chin and
Per Purpose.
This show also starts at 8pm and entry is only $8!

If you're still up for some dance floor action, you can head to Woodland
for the inaugural Pedestrian.tv POP! party.
Because Pedestrian love Brisbane, they are going to run this party
every 6 weeks - thanks for the love!
Special guest DJ's for the evening will be Little Red, Sparcadia, Patrick Byron
and those effervescent girls from Bats Magazine under their Skate Witches moniker.

On Saturday night the 16th, Brisbane ladies STAG perform at Woodland
with special guest DJ's Holly, Lou and Michelle and of course the
Woodland residents Polar Bear and Harvey Satan.
Entry is $5 but  free before 10pm!

Over at The Clubhouse, Hunz, Lion Island and Tape Off are supporting
AXXONN for their album launch.
Entry is $5 or $20 with a copy of the AXXONN album.

Next arrivals include Christopher Esber and ARNSDORF!

See you soon,
Thea X
