New B Store London & Carhartt + The Sale Begins.. 3-12-10

Hi Everyone!

We have our Christmas Tree up in BV now with lots of
shiny baubles all over the place so are feeling VERY festive!
Wait till I crank up the Phil Spector Christmas tunes and the
Charlie Brown Christmas ;)

We are offering some special treats all the way through
December that are being announced initially on our Christmas
Facebook page.
Here's the link if you would like to join up:

This week we are giving away 5 double passes to see Broadcast/
Seekae/Pikelet play at the Hi-Fi Bar on Monday night.
We are also giving away one double pass to see The Fall play
also at The Hi-Fi Bar, on Tuesday night.

To enter, purchase anything at either Blonde Venus or The Outpost
by 5pm on Saturday the 4th and you will go in to the draw.

The Chinese film Aftershock took out the award for Best Feature Film
at the 2010 Asia Pacific Screen Awards held at the Gold Coast last night.

Winning the award for Best Documentary Feature Film was also a Chinese film
that I saw recently at BIFF called Last Train Home, a confronting but
fantastic film and I thoroughly recommend seeing if, if you get a chance.

Australia didn't do quite as well at the awards this year but check out
all the details here...

Here's a bit of Man Love to help you with your Christmas Shopping!

B Store's Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie have had a clear vision
for their RTW brand since it's debut in 2006.

Their pieces are inspired by traditional menswear and interpreted
with a modern edge.

Their boutique sits on Savile Row which is the historic area known
for it's traditional men's tailoring.

The guys draw upon this history and blend it with concepts they love from
art, film and music like early David Bowie and 80's post punk bands
Joy Division and even Human League.

They're about creating modern pieces away from the world of "branded luxury".

B Store London in store now at Blonde Venus.

I'm actually going to try and sample all of these shows this weekend
as well as the IMA Members Cocktail Party on Saturday night.
This means careful planning and outfit changes will be involved.
A tough job, but I'm up for the challenge.
This time of year is always so much fun!

I'll leave you with this beautiful song by Brisbane based artist
McKisko called Thankful Tangle.
Helen is performing live at The Hangar tonight.

See you soon,
Thea X
