Karen Walker has had a busy week in New York launching her
latest Eyewear Collection and also showing her Fall 13 Ready
to Wear on the Runway.
Both went astoundingly well.

Karen is proving herself to be on of the most visionary women in fashion of our time.
Her new Eyewear collection called Karen Walker Forever was photographed by
another modern visionary, Ari Seth Cohen.
Ari is the New Yorker behind the street style blog called Advanced Style
where for several years he has been capturing fashion inspired senior ladies.
I'm the first girl on the street to say "I don't want to see another stupid blog!"
but this one is totally glamorous and one can only hope to be included on
there... one day...
The NEW Karen Walker Forever Eyewear collection will be in store
by the end of the month.
Karen's runway collection called New Rose, which will translate to our SS13
was inspired by a couple of my musical heroes Siouxsie Soux
and The Damned and received a great review on Style.com

One of Karen Walker's inspiration images for this collection.
Karen says that this collection was inspired by 1950's optimism, suburbia's fascination
with space travel and Jules Vernian planets, stars and satellites - a nod to a past so
consumed with the future.
I say it's classic KW and I am struggling to pick favorites here!
Her pieces always seem to work back well together season after
season and they are such keepers!

The IMA are presenting an Other Film event on Thursday evening
Michale Loebenstein (National Film & Sound Archive Canberra)
introduces film by legendary Austrian experimental film maker Peter Kubelka.
Entry is free and starts at 6pm.
Also on Thursday night, Thee Oh Sees are making their annual Brisbane
visit with a show at The Zoo.
Doors open at 7:30 with Brisbane bands Go Violets and
Per Purpose supporting.
Tickets are $35 on the door.
I love a chance to see vintage film on the big screen and this Saturday night
Cine-Retro are showing the fabulous High Society at The Old Museum.
The film stars Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong in beautiful
Technicolour and featuring those very famous songs by Cole Porter.
Grace looks stunning and her wardrobe is incredible.
