New Season! Antipodium + Sale Ends Soon+ + Win Movie Tickets!

Hi Everyone!

We are so lucky to have these "easy" winters.
We still have amazing sunshine on most days and we can comfortably
head out and about in the evenings without fear of hypothermia!

Just as well, because as always, there is plenty to do in Brisbane.
Just get out there and do it!

I've been busy, busy working on a fashion performance for the opening on
an exciting new space called Fish Lane Studios that is in the hub of Brisbane's
South Bank cultural precinct.
More news on that later.

Last night I went to see the new art exhibition by the iconic Luke Roberts
or you may know him as Pope Alice at Milani Gallery.

You know how I love metallic and neon…
A still from the video The Visitation by Luke Roberts

This exhibition in entitled Amoroma…Burning Love and is a rich and
exotic collection of the many "curiosities" that make up the enigma that
is Luke Roberts.

Part of the Amoroma…Burning Love installation.

This show is on now at Milani and runs until the 20th of July.

After Luke's, I scooted over to the Powerhouse where there was a bustling
crowd for the opening of Seven with Another.
This exhibition celebrates the process of collaboration where seven creatives
are individually asked to collaborate with another creative.
It's about stepping outside of your comfort zone, opening your mind and working
with another person to create an idea.

I was thrilled to see  Erin Lightfoot's print design again.
You may remember Erin graduated from QUT with a BA in Fashion before launching her
distinctive porcelain jewellery line.
She has such a fabulous eye for colour and design.
On this occasion Erin collaborated with filmmaker/photographer Hailey Bartholomew.

I particularly loved the works by architect Paul Owen and copywriter Marianne Harvey
and also the very charming pieces by fine artist Emily Devers and industrial designer Leo Yip.

The exhibition is open to view now at the Brisbane Powerhouse until next Wednesday
the 17th of July.

The Way, Way Back

Don't be deterred by the big name actors Steve Carell, Allison Janney
and Toni Collette as this is not a totally mainstream tale.
The big star of this film is 14 year old Liam James who plays Duncan
in this awkward coming of age story with a charming twist.
Owen played by Sam Rockwell plays Duncan's "fairy god brother"
who gives him some cheeky guidance in his time of need.
This is quite sweet.
Here's the trailer:

I've barely recovered from the amazing experience of 4ZZZ Happy Fest
last weekend that was held in Winn Lane and The Zoo.
So many great performances including the extraordinary piano duo Footy
from Melbourne, the intense and infectious industrial music by Melbourne's
Forces and the progressive synth punk duo Multiple Man from Brisbane.

But wait there's more!

Tonight there is a very bouncy line up of bands at Browning Street with
Death Legs, Screaming Match, Daylight Robbery, Black Deity
and Roku Music playing at The Waiting Room from 7:30pm.

On Saturday night, it's another night of wild abandon at
Trainspotters with an all Brisbane line-up: Sonic Masala,
Brainbeau, Cobwebbs and Black Vacation.
It's free to get in so we love it in more. Thanks Trainspotters!

Melbourne friend Jamie Whiteside posted a link this week for this
incredible and amazing film.

Triadisches Ballett (Triadic Ballet) is a ballet by Oskar Schlemmer
with music by Paul Hindesmith which premiered in Stuttgart in
September 1922.
Where would we be without Bauhaus?!
Watch it here:

Stay inspired!
See you soon!
