100 years
This year marks the anniversary of the birth of Frederick John Perry.
Not only was Fred a demon on the court and a devil with the ladies,
but he managed to launch a brand that has amassed such passionate
support and which crosses various genres of sport, music and fashion.
We currently have some of the Limited Edition 100 year polos (pictured)
in stock, as well as a lovely selection of other fine Fred Perry garments.
Thank you to the 500+ that came to our Fred Perry 100 Years party at
The Zoo on Thursday night.
I managed to play a few rounds of table tennis before being overcome

Hi Everyone!
Sorry that I'm running behind with your update.
It's not that I wasn't thinking about you!
Where do I start.
Paris was amazing.
Here's a little rundown of some highlights...
The Gareth Pugh show was an incredible event to start
off my first day.
The collection was intense and inspiring in the fab venue of
one of my favourite Parisienne galleries, The Palais De Tokyo.
Going in to the show, I ran into Vogue Australia's Editor in Chief,
Kirstie Clements and Fashion Director Naomi Smith.
Also in the audience was Rihanna, Grace Coddington, Ellen Von Unwerth...
I went on to the after party at Cha Cha hosted by Richard from Ponystep (London)
and tunes by popular French DJ Jerry Bouthier.
I dined at the Hotel Amour with a whole group of fashion friends, new and old
and met London stylists of the mo, Francesca Burns (i-D, Love Magazine)
and Victoria Young (POP, Love Magazine).
Gareth Pugh and his lovely partner, musician Carson McColl escorted
me to the now infamous Purple Magazine party which was held
at Le Montana - one of the many Parisienne enterprises run by artist
and entrepeneur Andre.
What a scorching, star studded party!
As soon as we were in the door, I was saying hello to Purple's Olivier
Zahm and the fabulous stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington.
I met up with girlfriend Abby Bennett (Mandi Lennard PR) and also London
based photographer Cameron Smith and we partied.
The next thing you know, we're talking to Alexandra Richards and rubbing
shoulders with the Carine Roitfield (and Julia and her gorgeous son Vladimir),
Anna Dello Russo (Vogue Nippon), Ellen Von Unwerth, Andre, Anouck Lepere,
Irina Lazareanu, Noel Fielding (the Mighty Boosh), Lulu Kennedy (Fashion East)
Of course Henry Holland was there too (wearing a B Store polka dot shirt
like the one that's in the window right now!) and I even met Michael Stipe from
REM.
I went to the beautiful retrospective exhibition of revolutionary French designer
Madeleine Vionnet at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.
I saw the Balenciaga retrospective at Le Bon Marche and also
La Petite Robe Noir (The Little Black Dress) installation through the Palais Royal
which was held by vintage boutique Didier Ludot.
This included pieces from 1926 through to 2009.
I also visited the Musee de L'Orangerie in the Jardin des Tuilleries
which houses Monet's huge Waterlilly paintings as well as loads
of other stunning paintings by Picasso, Renoir, Modigliani and Marie Laurencin.
Apart from these delights, I was (you will be happy to know), walking and working
my self to the limit.
I looked at collection after collection.
All the favourites including Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, Mary Katrantzou,
Natalia Brilli, Acne...
I visited countless showrooms and exhibitions to absorb as much as possible!
I even took a day trip to London to explore the stores and see what was happening.
I met up with Abby and we had lunch as Dover Street Market :)
It was affirming to see that Paris and London's renowned stores Colette, Le Bon March,
Liberty, Maria Luisa, Dover Street Market and Browns all featured exact pieces that we have
in-store right now at Blonde Venus.
It's good to know that you're not missing out!

These amazing prints were designed by London artist and musician Linder Sterling
who has become known for her digital collages of a provocative nature.
Her most well known commercial work was the album cover for 80's punk

Linder has montaged 50's soft porn shoots and photos of iris flowers
bought from old estates on eBay.
I saw Richard a few times in Paris, sporting brooches from his
Spring/Summer 10 collection and beaming about his latest
appointment as creative director for the Italian heritage label,
Cerruti!

When we first introduced BStore Men's Wear to Australia a couple of
years ago, I felt it was the best men's wear that I had seen in a long
time.
I still love it as much today.
They have been at the forefront of the movement for the chino and the pleated trouser.
It has all the elements of traditional English men's wear that I admire but with
a progressive twist.
Also, it can be up to you, as to how far you push the look with your
own personal styling.
I say, take a leaf from the Runway images and push it all the way.

as being inspired by the style and attitude of student protest marches -

the creative direction of Jason Hughes, who also styles their runway shows.

I visited countless showrooms and exhibitions to absorb as much as possible!
I even took a day trip to London to explore the stores and see what was happening.
I met up with Abby and we had lunch as Dover Street Market :)
It was affirming to see that Paris and London's renowned stores Colette, Le Bon March,
Liberty, Maria Luisa, Dover Street Market and Browns all featured exact pieces that we have
in-store right now at Blonde Venus.
It's good to know that you're not missing out!

These amazing prints were designed by London artist and musician Linder Sterling
who has become known for her digital collages of a provocative nature.
Her most well known commercial work was the album cover for 80's punk
band The Buzzcocks.
Linder has montaged 50's soft porn shoots and photos of iris flowers
bought from old estates on eBay.
I saw Richard a few times in Paris, sporting brooches from his
Spring/Summer 10 collection and beaming about his latest
appointment as creative director for the Italian heritage label,
Cerruti!

When we first introduced BStore Men's Wear to Australia a couple of
years ago, I felt it was the best men's wear that I had seen in a long
time.
I still love it as much today.
They have been at the forefront of the movement for the chino and the pleated trouser.
It has all the elements of traditional English men's wear that I admire but with
a progressive twist.
Also, it can be up to you, as to how far you push the look with your
own personal styling.
I say, take a leaf from the Runway images and push it all the way.
BStore co-owners Matthew Murphy and Kirk Beattie describe this collection
as being inspired by the style and attitude of student protest marches -
from the 1960's Parisian riots through to the 1980's post Thatcherism.
I dropped in to BStore on my crazy day trip to London and said hello to
Kirk who showed me the debut issue of their own B Magazine under
the creative direction of Jason Hughes, who also styles their runway shows.
Kirk also showed me the new limited edition B Store / Casio G Shock collab
watches.
I loved the polka dot one!
